FAQ

How do I install the app?

Open taglabpro.com in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Create an account, then click Install on desktop. TagLab Pro opens from your dock or taskbar and stays signed in until you log out.

How do I link a video?

Open the game and click Video. Then click Upload video, or paste a YouTube link. Videos never leave that computer. If you move the file, or open the game on another computer, the app shows Video not found. Click Link video and pick the file again. Your tags stay.

How does sync work?

Teams, games, tags, reports and settings save to your account. The corner mark shows Synced, Syncing… or Offline. Videos stay on each computer and are not uploaded.

How do Club coaches work?

On a Club plan, the owner opens My Club and adds up to 4 coaches by email. Everyone shares the same teams, games, tags and reports. Each coach links the same video file on their own computer.

How do I export?

Open a report and choose Export PDF or Export Excel. In Settings you can also export a backup file. Exporting does not delete your data. The FT row PPP is free-throw points divided by free-throw attempts, and it never goes above 1.00. A made free throw is 1 team point even with no 2F before it. Points from the shot in a 2+1 or 3+1 stay off the FT row.

How do I reset and reload?

If a page looks broken or stays on Loading, press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac). Or click Trouble loading? Reset and reload (also in Settings). Your teams, games and tags stay safe.

How do I import games from another tagging app?

Open the same game and click Import events. Paste the events, read the preview, then click Import. The preview lists every column that will not be imported. Columns such as Broken Play Automatics go into a matching tag group when you have one, otherwise into Notes. Each event uses its period column when that cell is filled. Otherwise use the quarter picker in the preview. A row is a duplicate only when the team, player, time, and every tag value match. Import only adds. It never deletes or changes existing games, tags, or players. See Games and video in the Coach Guide: Games and video.

How does Live mode work during a game?

On New game, choose Live (no video). No video is required. There is no game clock to type, and no substitutions or starting five. The flow is Team, Player, tags, one tap per choice, a shot chart after a field goal, then back to Team. After the game, add the video and use Match live tags to video. It lists Live tags in saved order by quarter. Step through the film and press . or Set video time. See Live in the Coach Guide: Live.

What if I tag EOQ for both teams?

If you tag EOQ for both teams at the same break, TagLab Pro counts it as one quarter break.

How do I share clips and stats with a player?

On the player card in Reports, click Share with player. He does not log in. Choose 7 days, 30 days, or never. A new link replaces the old one. The film stays on your computer. See Reports in the Coach Guide: Reports.

How do Club coaches review and fix each other's tagging?

On a Club plan, any club coach can edit a game. Changes lists who edited what, and when. Undo this change puts one edit back. Mark reviewed records that the game was checked. If two coaches edited the same tag, you choose which version stays. See Club in the Coach Guide: Club: editing and reviewing games.

How do I read the Action vs Coverage report?

Action vs Coverage puts offensive actions in the rows and coverages in the columns. Each cell shows possessions, points, PPP, and FG%. Green is a high PPP. Red is a low PPP. Fewer than 5 possessions is marked low sample. See Reports in the Coach Guide: Reports.

Why does my report say "low sample" or "No lineup data"?

In Action vs Coverage, low sample means fewer than 5 possessions. In Lineups, fewer than 10 possessions is low sample. Lineup not set means that team has no confirmed five, so On/Off is not calculated. No lineup data means a five is saved but there are not enough video times to count minutes. A five confirmed later does not take possessions that were tagged before it. See Reports in the Coach Guide: Reports.
